Recording info: Recorded @ Phillip Calvert's bedroom, Melbourne during September 1979. Engineered on 4-track by the group's live sound mixer Steven -Groper- Colgan. Mixed by Peter Inglis [former Skyhooks guitarst] at Pitt Street studios, Melbourne-Carlton at the end of Peter Lillie's "Samurai Star" single recording session in October 1979.

Note: Split single given away at the Boys Next Door's and The Models' joint Crystal Ballroom gig on 20-Oct-79. Later released on the "Drunk On The Pope's Blood" CD album.

Note: Comes with printed insert sheet. Artwork on cover sleeve by Marcus Bergner, a Melbourne based visual artist, experimental filmmaker and writer. He was member of Too Fat To Fit Through The Door, a band belonging to Melbourne's "Little Bands" scene in the late 70s. The EP was later released as part of the "Hee Haw" CD compilation album. This mix of "The Hair Shirt" is unavailable anywhere else.

Initially compiled for a possible release as an album for Ralph Records (San Francisco). When the deal fell through, Missing Link released it to recuperate some of the costs they made by sending the band overseas. The band wanted to title the record "Drunk On The Popes Blood". Combines the second Boys Next Door freebie single, the first 2 Birthday Party singles, 2 tracks from the "Hee Haw" EP with 2 at the time unreleased tracks ("Hats On Wrong" and "Guilt Parade"). "The Hair Shirt" is remixed version from The Boys Next Door "Hee Haw" EP.

"Ho Ho" is an alternate take with Nick Cave on vocals from the "Prayers On Fire" sessions;

"The Plague" is Tracy Pew's only composition and a left over from the (Boys Next Door) July/August 1979 "Hee Haw" 12" sessions; "Scatterbrain" is from a (Boys Next Door) gig give-away 7" (recorded September 1979) , "The Friend Catcher" is a demo from the (Boys Next Door) January 1980 sessions;

"Dead Joe" is the 2nd version (same as Masterbag flexi) from the UK "Junkyard" sessions, "After The Fireworks" & "After,After The Fireworks" were recorded in Feb-82 in Melbourne @ the AAV studios (without Tracy Pew & Phill Calvert, with Grant McLennan, Robert Forster & Lindy Morrison) and originally released as Tuff Monks on Au-Go-Go records in 1982. All engineered by Tony Cohen.

Recording info: CD-ROM: Boys Next Door filmed on video by Linda Baron @ Preston Institute of Technology, Melbourne on 28-Apr-78. CD: Boys Next Door recorded @ Alan Eaton Studios, Melbourne-St.Kilda in June 1978 during the "Door, Door" (then still titled "Brave Exhibitions") album recording sessions. Produced by Les Karski (aka Leszek J. Karski) (who later worked with Midnight Oil, in 1979 and The Triffids, in 1982).

Note: CD-ROM has video interviews, live band footage, artwork, posters, photographs and fanzine material. Release produced by Scott Anderson. "Sex Crimes" is the same track as on the "Inner City Sound" 2CD.
